Sculptured
Greeting Cards!

This is a fun tutorial with some terrific results, great for sending as an e-card or to print out as a greeting card, postcard or whatever you choose. I came up with this idea when I was playing around trying to come up with good challenges for my graphics group, Cafe PSP.
What you will need.
PSP 7
(I use version 7 but it can easily be achieved in 5 or 6)
A photo of yourself, family, pets...up to you what you use.
Not essential but filters give some very interesting effects....I used Greg's Pool Shadow and Harry's Colour Rave filters (Colour Cocktail and Atmospherizer). Also Xenofex But you can just use whichever you have in your Plugins folder now. *s*
Now to create your card!
Open the photo that you wish to work with and make a copy of it, close down the original, you are going to work on the copy. I chose a photo of a friend of mine who is pictured with her nephew and her brother *what a hunk*. Sorry about that...Please forgive my drooling. LOL

Next go to 'Effects'....'Texture Effects'....'Sculpture'

Apply the settings below and click okay (I saved these settings as impression)

Once you have this done you can then apply any effects, borders that you wish...have fun and play around until you get the one that appeals to you.
However, you may wish to know what I did on my image. Well next I applied Greg's Pool Shadow filter....then Colour Rave's Colour Cocktail filter (or you can use the Atmospherizer).
Added a border of 20 and filled with a weave pattern that I'd made from the main sculptured image.
I then added a drop shadow. H...3 V...3 Opacity...100 Blur...31.8 colour black.
Added a border of 5...and applied a Blade Pro filter to it.
To finish off I added my Greeting in vector text and changed each letter to a different colour, I then saved it to a raster layer. Merged all (flatten) Voila...the card is now finished.
Here is my finished card. Different and weird maybe but a whole lot of fun! *s*

Extra ideas. Apply the Colour Rave's Atmospherizer then go to Effects....Geometric Effects...Punch 30 or Pinch 50...it will make you thankful for your present shape! LOL
This next one was done by adding the Atomospherizer and then Xenofex 1.0 Television...Peephole okayed it...then selected television again, this time Polarized...you have to play around with the ghost settings to get the effect you want. I reduced the size of mine for quicker loading so they look a bit blurry.

My husband (middle) two sons and grandchildren before attending a Fancy Dress party 2 years ago. Spooky without all the filters. *eg*
"The Newton Family"
They're creepy and they're kooky,
Mysterious and spooky,
They're all together ooky,
The Newton Family.Their house is a museum
Where people come to see 'em
They really are a scream
The Newton Family.da da da dum da da da dum
da da da dum
da da da dum da da da dum
So get a witches shawl on
A broomstick you can crawl on
We're gonna pay a call on
The Newton Family.(don't forget the click of the fingers) *s*

Play around with all your filters, but most of all, your imagination and let us see what great effects and ideas that you come up with...don't forget to share how you did them too, because we are all learning.
Have Fun! and Email if you have any problems!
