Part 2 of the Apple & Bran Muffin Lady! *s*

Step 16*    This is where we make sure that the shapes, sizes and order are the way we want them...Use the Object Selector to move the nodes around in the same way as before to give a different shape if required.

If you wish to change the colours of any vector shapes...then again using the object selector...click on the shape you wish to change and right click on properties, from here you can change the colour, gradient, pattern, line etc...you can also add or take away a foreground colour etc from this area...pretty cool, huh?

Once you have everything the way you want it, we can then go ahead to convert the layers to raster and add some more details.

 Don't forget to keep saving!

Now you can decorate your muffin in whichever way you wish....leave it as it is...add texture... This is a briefly what I did for my first muffin...you don't have to do it the same way but if you do, this is roughly what I did...though  I would like to see you all use your imagination and see what sort of background and details you can come up with. *s*

Step 17*  I  started with the sack layer,

After converting to Raster layer, go to Effects,

Texture Effects...Weave and use these settings on the right.

Save!

Step 18*

Selections...

Select All and

Float...

Next grab the retouch tool ... 'Darken RGB ....on the right are the basic settings that I use but I do play around with them according to what I need.   Apply some dark shading around the underside of top fold....down one side of the leg and across the width of the sack to create folds and creases, in fact in any area where there may be a dark shadow.

Still with the retouch tool, change to 'Lighten RGB' and apply some light shading for highlights.

Change to 'Soften' and soften the edges of the shadows to give a more realistic look to them...you never see a shadow that is the same shade throughout...the furthest away from the object the lighter the shadow.  Also soften the outer edges of the sack...but change the size of brush down to about 3.

Finish off the sack by adding the word 'Bran' to it on a new raster layer...then lower the opacity to about 50%.  Turn off all layers except for this one and the sack layer...Merge Visible.  Do the sack top in the same way.

Save!

Step 19*  If you are sure that you have the

features of the face the way you want them, convert

them to raster layer. Apply a Gaussian Blur to the cheeks,

I used size 6.00 for mine.  Also add highlights and smile lines

to the mouth, and eyes. (you will need to reduce the size of the 'lighten' brush to about a 2.   Add some lines from under the muffin top.

Step 20* Next select the arm layer and convert to Raster, apply a

slight sandstone texture and then an inner bevel with the preset that

I have provided on page 1....'muffin body'.

Repeat this step for all the muffin body parts....arms, legs, muffin body, muffin top.

**To get rid of the bit of arm that is on top of the face....I highlighted

the 'muffin head' layer...'Selections'....Select All...Float...then clicked on the arm layer

and deleted.   Ahhh...much better now!  *s*.

With muffin head layer selected, use the Darken tool and shade in around the legs...

in the same way as we did before.   Add some details to the top of the muffin...cracks, seeds,

shading....whatever.

I used the Jiggle effect of Eye Candy 3 for the top...

Brownian Motion...Bubble Size 5...Warp 10...Twist 0

Then used the draw tool to do a few squiggly lines and shapes on a new raster layer....next I

applied the same Jiggle....finished!   *s*  To finish off I added a few of my apples that I made

a few months ago and the bran of course. This image has been reduced in size and optimized for

quicker loading.

Thanks for doing my tutorial.  Also a *Big Thanks* to Beckie for testing out this crazy tute, I bet she was sorry that she 'nagged' me to give her something to do.  LOL  (( *hugs*)) Mary
